Putin spent a decade turning Crimea into the most fortified peninsula in Europe. Anti-ship missiles, S-400 batteries, a naval base projecting power across the entire Black Sea. Insurance companies refuse to issue travel policies for Crimea at any price. And now mobilization has turned the peninsula into a literal trap — men living there have nowhere to flee, because the bridge is monitored, the ferry is limited, and the northern border is the front line. Retired US Army General Ben Hodges has laid out exactly how this ends — not through invasion, but through strangulation. Three simultaneous phases: isolation, degradation, economic collapse.
