The Kremlin has now publicly responded after the CIA director’s trip to Moscow—and Dmitry Peskov’s message was unmistakable: Russia says its offensive continues, negotiations over Ukraine are “deeply on pause,” and Moscow claims the battlefield remains in its favor.

We examine Peskov’s statements, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski’s warning that NATO should accelerate its defense preparations, and Alexander Lukashenko’s striking comments about a “common problem” in southern Belarus and southwestern Russia ahead of his meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine is also continuing its long-range campaign against Russian military and energy infrastructure. So it looks like Ukraine just took out another Tu-95 bomber, on the runway, pretty far inside Russian territory. That would be the second Russian strategic bomber hit by a Ukrainian drone in the past six weeks. Same airfield actually which seems like maybe there’s a little gap in their air defense to say the least.

Putin has declared an emergency meeting with Lukashenko over the situation with Russia's dire conditions in the war, and further escalations that may be conducted against Ukraine or NATO. Russia is in a massive spending deficit because of war, and with fuel shortages now bringing whole cities to a stop. Russia has threatened the UK again with military actions, stating that the UK is "playing with fire" and that they will regret their current actions in support of Ukraine. Ukrainian drones conducted another major attack on Russia overnight, hitting a OZON near Ufa, and also attempted to hit a Soda Ash plant in Sterlitimak. Russia seems to be working on preparing an offensive on Ukraine from the city of Gomel along the border, with further works made to make this a reality in the future. NATO is stated to be in a very compromising position due to the lack of Patriot air defenses, with one US official saying that NATO could take heavy hits if a conflict starts with Russia currently.
