Russian frontlines on the Lyman front have collapsed as the Ukrainian 3rd Army Corps has seen major successes in the third phase of Operation Vivaldi. After Diversionary attacks successfully diverted Russian forces to the southern end of the Salient Ukrainian forces attacked the northern flank at Nove, crushing the defending Garrison with remote operated BTR-60 APCs laden with explosives. the town quickly fell to Ukrainian forces, and left hundreds of Russians at threat of encirclement. over 250 Russian soldiers have surrendered en masse as a result- the largest such surrender seen in the entire war since May 2022. Meanwhile Russia has conducted an attack on the NATO border, with drones hitting and exploding around the Yahodyn border crossing only a half mile away from the land border with Poland. Air Raid sirens throughout the eastern regions of Poland, and the air force was scrambled with orders to shoot anything down that crosses. Meanwhile the British government has released the Fairford suspects on bail, and stated that the drums in the van were filled with material that would not make "viable explosives."

Today, the biggest news comes from the Ukrainian border.

Here, a Ukrainian bomber hit a Russian military staging area, reportedly killing at least five soldiers, wounding eight others, and leaving four missing in action, as shown by geolocated footage released by Ukrainian units operating in the area. The attack also destroyed communications equipment and seriously wounded two Russian signalmen, which complicated their ability to maintain cohesion between neighboring units. The site was also being used to assemble small Russian infantry groups before dispersing them throughout Vovchansk to infiltrate Ukrainian positions. In one strike, Ukrainian forces carried out artillery and drone strikes against Russian troop concentrations and support facilities around Vovchansk. Ukrainian forces then carried out additional strikes across the border in Russia’s Belgorod region. Russian troops had converted a building at an abandoned sugar factory into a logistics hub, ammunition depot, and drone operator post supporting their operations in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the strike, the two guided bombs partially destroyed the facility. Separately, Ukrainian FPV drones struck a fuel and lubricants depot in the industrial zone of Shebekino, triggering explosions and fires at the site. This complicated the ability of Russian units to conduct mechanized attacks, while also denying Russian drone crews the opportunity to refill their generators, which are needed to charge their drones.

Russia is using these rear areas to accumulate forces and equipment to send large numbers of additional troops to their forward positions. Their task is to strengthen the forward groups, secure the gaps between them, and surround Ukrainian forces against the international border. In order to deny Russia the opportunity to encircle thousands of Ukrainian troops, Ukraine is attacking the places where Russian troops gather and where their supplies are stored, disrupting reinforcements before they can strengthen the frontline.

The scattered nature of Russian positions in this sector creates a growing demand for troops, because each isolated position requires soldiers not only to continue the attack, but also to hold captured ground and protect the routes connecting these positions. This puts increasing pressure on the Russian command, particularly after it claimed to have completely encircled Ukrainian forces. Every time Ukrainian strikes hit Russian troops, staging areas, or supply lines, additional soldiers and equipment are needed to replace losses and reinforce vulnerable positions. As more resources are diverted to keeping these scattered positions supplied and connected, fewer remain available for further advances, making it increasingly difficult for Russia to turn its claimed encirclement into a fully secured operation.

This means that the alleged encirclement is not complete and is really fragile. Russian forces infiltrated behind Ukrainian lines, but were unable to fully consolidate their gains because of Ukrainian resistance and strikes on the supply lines and staging areas. Much of the ground between Russia’s forward groups remains a grey zone, so neither side fully controls it. Because of the nature of these isolated pockets that are controlled by Russian soldiers, Ukrainian forces can still move through those gaps that were left during the Russian advance. By exploiting these gaps, Ukrainian forces can disrupt the logistics of the Russians and encircle the troops that managed to slip through the Ukrainian defenses.

Overall, Russia now faces a race between bringing in enough fresh troops to complete the encirclement and replacing the forces and equipment being lost to Ukrainian strikes. The positions Russia has already reached still require constant reinforcements, ammunition, and supplies simply to keep them operational. If Ukrainian attacks continue consuming those resources faster than Russia can replace them, the troops needed for the final push will instead be tied down sustaining the positions already captured. This means that Russia’s ability to complete the encirclement depends not only on advancing further, but on whether it can generate enough additional forces to do so without exhausting the resources needed to hold its current gains.

ور تو بگوییم که نی، نی شکنم شکر برم

آمده‌ام که ره زنم بر سر گنج شه زنم

آمده‌ام که زر برم زر نبرم خبر برم

گر شکند دل مرا جان بدهم به دل شکن

گر ز سرم کله برد من ز میان کمر برم

اوست نشسته در نظر من به کجا نظر کنم

اوست گرفته شهر دل من به کجا سفر برم

آنک ز زخم تیر او کوه شکاف می‌کند

پیش گشاد تیر او وای اگر سپر برم

گفتم آفتاب را گر ببری تو تاب خود

تاب تو را چو تب کند گفت بلی اگر برم

آنک ز تاب روی او نور، صفا به دل کشد

و آنک ز جوی حسن او آب سوی جگر برم

در هوس خیال او همچو خیال گشته‌ام

وز سر رشک نام او نام رخ قمر برم

این غزلم جواب آن باده که داشت پیش من

گفت بخور نمی‌خوری پیش کسی دگر برم

تو دیدی هیچ ماهی را که او شد سیر از این دریا؟

تو دیدی هیچ نقشی را که از نقاش بگریزد؟

تو دیدی هیچ وامق را که عذرا خواهد از عذرا؟

بود عاشق فراق اندر چو اسمی خالی از معنی

ولی معنی چو معشوقی فراغت دارد از اسما

توی دریا، منم ماهی، چنان دارم که می‌خواهی

بکن رحمت، بکن شاهی، که از تو مانده‌ام تنها

ایا شاهنشه قاهر! چه قحط رحمت‌ست آخر؟

دمی که تو نه‌ای حاضر گرفت آتش چنین بالا

اگر آتش تو را بیند چنان در گوشه بنشیند

کز آتش هر که گل چیند دهد آتش گل رعنا

عذاب‌ست این جهان بی تو، مبادا یک زمان بی تو

به جان تو که جان بی تو، شکنجه‌ست و بلا بر ما

خیالت همچو سلطانی، شد اندر دل خرامانی

چنانک آید سلیمانی، درون مسجد اقصی

هزاران مشعله بر شد، همه مسجد منور شد

بهشت و حوض کوثر شد، پر از رضوان پر از حورا

تعالی الله تعالی الله درون چرخ چندین مه

پر از حورست این خرگه نهان از دیدهٔ اعما

زهی دلشاد مرغی کو مقامی یافت اندر عشق

به کوه قاف کی یابد مقام و جای جز عنقا؟

زهی عنقای ربانی، شهنشه شمس تبریزی
