Rental storage units are the ideal criminal hideout: paid in
cash, accessed by code, their entry records are private and require
a court order to obtain. They're invisible within the everyday
infrastructure of a suspect — until the FBI finds them.
What they're looking for inside: electronic devices, communication records,
biological material for genetic cross-matching with Nancy's profile, documents
showing coordination between suspects, and items that couldn't be kept
in homes or vehicles already under active suspicion.
The case now has four physical coordinates on the Bureau's record:
the tunnel, the basement, the camping van with genetic material, and the storage unit.
Each point closes a chapter. Together, they map out a criminal operation
meticulously planned to scatter evidence across four separate sites.
The FBI found all four. The net has never been tighter.
