Do You Know How To Fix Anything? | Victor Davis Hanson #504 | The Way I Heard It
A couple years ago, I sat down with Victor Davis Hanson for a conversation that has since been viewed more than five million times. So, naturally, I invited him back to see if we could ruin a perfectly good thing. We failed.
Victor joined me from the 150-year-old farmhouse where his great-great-grandmother once lived—a place where something is always breaking, somebody is always fixing it, and the crawlspace beneath his feet provides a surprisingly useful metaphor for the country above it.
We talked about the growing distance between the people who run the country and the people who can actually fix it. And inevitably, we talked about Donald Trump.
From there, things got interesting. Why does a billionaire from Queens connect with working people in a way so many politicians can't? Why did some of his loudest supporters turn against him? And how does Victor reconcile the things Trump says that make him cringe with the things he believes Trump has gotten right?
In other words, Victor Davis Hanson is back. And once again, we had some things to discuss.
