Thousands of Iranian-Canadians took to the streets of Toronto in a massive rally supporting anti-government protests in Iran. Marchers carried flags and banners, voicing solidarity with Iranians inside the country and calling for an end to the mullahs’ rule. The event, part of a Global Day of Action with simultaneous protests in Munich, Los Angeles, and other cities, also celebrated the leadership of exiled opposition figure Reza Pahlavi. Protesters declared, “Our body is here, our soul is there,” and demanded the eradication of the regime’s oppressive ideology.
