266. 100 Years of Homelessness: The Secret Story Behind the Collapse - Homeless in America

For a century, America has been fighting a battle it refuses to acknowledge: the slow, uninterrupted rise of homelessness. This documentary uncovers the hidden history behind today’s collapse — from post-war poverty to deinstitutionalization, from the crack epidemic to the fentanyl era, from failed housing policies to decades of political denial. As the camera retraces how every generation inherited a deeper crisis, the truth becomes impossible to ignore: homelessness in America didn’t appear overnight. It was built, layer by layer, through decisions, neglect, and systems designed to break before they ever protected anyone. Through rare archives, expert insight, and raw modern-day footage, this film reveals the secret story behind the collapse — and why the country is now paying the price for a century of looking away.

279 - California Homeless Crisis 2026: A City Falling Apart Under Fentanyl's Grip | Homeless in America

California - home to the largest homeless population in the United States - continues to face a humanitarian crisis unlike anywhere else in the country. The California homeless crisis 2026 is deepening as fentanyl addiction, rising housing costs, and homelessness leave entire communities struggling to survive across the Golden State.

In this episode of US HOMELESS STORIES, we investigate the California homeless crisis 2026 to explore how a city is falling apart under fentanyl's grip. From Los Angeles and San Francisco to Oakland and San Diego, fentanyl addiction, untreated mental illness, economic hardship, and a severe shortage of affordable housing continue to drive homelessness throughout California. As street encampments expand and public systems face mounting pressure, the crisis grows more visible with each passing year.

This documentary reveals the harsh reality of homeless in California, where thousands of people live in tents, vehicles, RVs, and makeshift shelters while battling addiction, untreated illness, financial instability, and the daily uncertainty of life on the streets. The California homeless crisis 2026 continues to worsen as fentanyl addiction places increasing pressure on vulnerable individuals, families, emergency services, and communities across the state.

Through raw street footage and real human stories, we uncover the human cost behind California's homelessness emergency. This is a closer look at the California homeless crisis 2026 - where fentanyl, housing insecurity, and homelessness continue to reshape lives across one of America's most influential states.

📍 Question For You :
Do you believe California can reduce homelessness without first addressing fentanyl addiction and the shortage of affordable housing?

Phase II of Operation Vivaldi is now complete

I guess warfare isn’t already terrifying enough. We now have Ukrainian drones dropping off other drones behind Russian lines, hunting down targets and exploding. That’s what’s happening right now as Ukraine continues their offensive in the east, Operation Vivaldi.

Brigadier General Biletsky, the commander of the 3rd Army Corps just announced the completion of phase two of this operation in the Lyman direction and we’re starting to see some changes made on public maps as well.
