Art Arthur of the Center for Immigration Studies joins Mike Baker on The PDB Situation Report to examine a dramatic surge in terrorism-related encounters at the southern border.

With more than 11,000 encounters recorded at southwest border ports of entry, Arthur explains why the numbers have skyrocketed—and why they don't necessarily mean thousands of known terrorists are attempting to enter the country. He breaks down how tighter border security is forcing smugglers and cartel members toward official checkpoints, how new terrorist designations are changing enforcement, and how criminal networks previously exploited gaps in Border Patrol coverage.

The geopolitical crisis in the Middle East has reached a boiling point as new intelligence exposes how Iran is actively planning high-stakes regional strikes timed to impact the upcoming U.S. elections. With oil prices surging past $100 a barrel following intense naval blockades in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. military is locking down defensive postures to counter Tehran's aggressive maneuvering. Inside Iran, the clerical establishment is desperately trying to leverage energy shocks and regional proxies to alter the political landscape, even as the Iranian People suffer under a catastrophic convergence of crises.

Decades of severe international sanctions combined with catastrophic domestic mismanagement, corruption, and the diversion of billions into regional proxy wars and the nuclear program have left the rial virtually worthless, making basic food staples, medicine, and housing entirely unaffordable for millions of working-class families. Despite sitting on massive hydrocarbon reserves, the population routinely faces systemic power grid failures, rolling blackouts, and critical fuel shortages that leave hospitals and basic infrastructure struggling to function and directly endanger civilian lives.

Furthermore, years of disastrous dam projects, government corruption, and acute mismanagement of water resources have triggered severe droughts across multiple provinces, destroying traditional agriculture, drying up historic water sources, and displacing rural populations into impoverished urban fringes. Finally, civil liberties have been systematically eradicated, where peaceful protests over economic conditions or basic human rights are met with violent crackdowns by security apparatuses, mass arrests, and harsh judicial sentences, trapping the populace under an atmosphere of constant surveillance and state intimidation.

This expanding conflict is rippling across neighboring flashpoints, drawing in security spillover from Iraq and Israel while testing the endurance of Saudi Arabia and the IRGC.

Join us live on A2 Analysis as we break down Tehran's midterm strike plans, the escalating U.S. confrontation, the profound suffering of the Iranian people, and the ultimate fight for the region.
