I examine the extraordinary night of October 14, 2026, when Ukrainian drones reportedly surged toward Moscow and Russian infrastructure while Russia launched 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against Kyiv. Moscow’s mayor said nearly 500 drones were headed toward the capital; reported targets included an oil depot in Belgorod, the Novoshakhtinsk refinery, and Sberbank’s Balakovo data center.

The more consequential failure came over Kyiv. Ukrainian officials said they received no allied warning before the first ballistic-missile wave, though alerts reportedly arrived for later waves. With 35 of 39 missiles getting through, strikes damaged power and oil-and-gas facilities, caused blackouts and water disruptions, and underscored Ukraine’s interceptor shortage. I also assess reports that Starshield terminals lost connectivity above 160 km/h, disrupting Ukrainian missions, while separating confirmed restrictions from speculation about their cause. The strategic issue is whether degraded warning, air defense, and connectivity are creating exploitable gaps for Russia.

امانوئل مکرون نیز ضمن بازگرداندن ناو هواپیمابر شارل دوگل به فرانسه، اعلام کرده تجهیزات مین‌روبی و بخشی از نیروهای دریایی این کشور همچنان در منطقه باقی خواهند ماند. در همین حال، دیمیتری مدودوف، معاون شورای امنیت روسیه، تنگه هرمز را سلاحی هم‌سنگ توان هسته‌ای برای جمهوری اسلامی توصیف کرده؛ اظهاراتی که بار دیگر اهمیت ژئوپلیتیک این گذرگاه حیاتی را برجسته می‌کند.
در لبنان، جوزف عون تأکید کرده که توافق جدید هیچ مشروعیتی به حضور نظامی اسرائیل در خاک لبنان نمی‌دهد و خروج نیروهای اسرائیلی همچنان هدف اصلی دولت این کشور است. در یمن نیز تنش‌ها میان حوثی‌ها و عربستان سعودی وارد مرحله تازه‌ای شده و ادعاها درباره جلوگیری از فرود یک هواپیمای ایرانی در صنعا، تهدیدهای کم‌سابقه‌ای را میان دو طرف رقم زده است.
از سوی دیگر، شورای ریاست‌جمهوری یمن پرواز مستقیم ایران به صنعا را نقض حاکمیت ملی این کشور دانسته و آن را مغایر با قطعنامه‌های بین‌المللی توصیف کرده است. همزمان، محافظه‌کاران اروپایی در واشینگتن هشدار داده‌اند که تهدیدهای جمهوری اسلامی و جنگ اوکراین را نباید دو پرونده جداگانه تلقی کرد و امنیت اروپا به هر دو موضوع گره خورده است.
در بخش داخلی، نیویورک تایمز از شکاف‌های فزاینده در ساختار قدرت جمهوری اسلامی و اختلافات جدی بر سر توافق با آمریکا خبر داده است. گزارش‌ها حاکی است که جناح‌های مختلف حکومت درباره ادامه مسیر مذاکره، کاهش تنش با غرب و آینده اقتصادی کشور دیدگاه‌های متفاوتی دارند. در همین چارچوب، الیاس حضرتی نیز تأکید کرده که تیم مذاکره‌کننده با تلخی و اجبار پای میز گفت‌وگو می‌نشیند و خواست انتقام همچنان در میان بخشی از حاکمیت زنده است.
همچنین به این پرسش پرداخته‌ایم که چرا جمهوری اسلامی هرگز نتوانست از عراق بابت جنگ هشت‌ساله غرامت دریافت کند و چه شباهت‌هایی میان آن پرونده و وضعیت کنونی در قبال آمریکا و اسرائیل وجود دارد. اظهارات تازه رحیم صفوی درباره «جنگ موجودیتی» با اسرائیل و سخنان جنجالی جاناتان پولارد درباره احتمال درگیری‌های آینده با ترکیه و مصر نیز از دیگر محورهای این برنامه است.
