Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad tonight with a small delegation, Pakistani government sources and an Iranian source told CNN.

The decision to strike follows a recent incident where Iran attacked commercial ships navigating the critical Strait of Hormuz waterway. President Trump addressed these escalating tensions while closing out the NATO summit held in Turkey, clarifying the current parameters of the administration's military approach.

During his closing remarks, President Trump emphasized that the primary goal of Operation Epic Fury remains entirely unchanged, asserting that the administration will never allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon. While he noted a significantly diminished interest in pursuing diplomatic channels and expressed readiness to launch further military actions, he specified that these measures would not mark a return to an all-out war. He stated that any prospective action would be over very quickly and that the United States is not looking for a long-term engagement.

The escalating situation with Iran quickly dominated the narrative at the NATO summit, overshadowing multiple other agenda items scheduled with European allies.
