Dmitry Medvedev says Russia can only be “saved” by defeating Ukraine. That is not the language of a confident Kremlin—and Sergei Lavrov’s latest warnings make Moscow’s growing pressure even harder to ignore.

This update breaks down Ukraine’s deep strikes on targets in Ryazan, Perm, and Russian logistics sites; President Zelenskyy’s urgent request for 300 Patriot interceptors before winter; the Senate’s 86–12 procedural vote targeting buyers of Russian oil; signs of possible Russian mobilization and additional North Korean manpower; and Lavrov’s escalating rhetoric toward Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and NATO.

Ukraine is increasing the cost of this war, but its air-defense clock is running fast. Watch to the end, then tell me: Is Russia projecting strength—or revealing fear?

This could be the new normal for quite a while

It’s looking more and more that we’ve reached an impasse in Iran.
Trump will not accept Iran's newest terms as that would signal a clear US defeat. However, a significant escalation to change the dynamics also seems unlikely. That leaves us with how things sit today: Iran with de-facto control of the Strait of Hormuz. Sanctions will stay in place and economic relief won't be granted, but real nuclear negotiations probably won't come together anytime soon.

Now President Trump remains optimistic just a few hours ago stating "It will work out. It always works out.”

Things are going to get creative

Ukraine is pretty much out of missile interceptors, so now what?

We know they’re trying to get more and there’s of course the domestic program that hopefully will be ready soon but the other option is to target the archer rather than shooting down the arrows. And that’s something NATO is helping with.

Today we’re joined by Colonel Valerii Vyshnivskyi of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center to discuss a new challenge: persistent airfield denial. This is part of a series of innovation challenges put on by NATO where companies from alliance countries submit their solutions and compete for the potential to receive support to develop their products.

Zelensky has a warning for Moscow: if Russia keeps targeting Ukraine’s electricity and heating, Ukraine will make winter painful for Russia too. Could Russia’s historic ally—“General Winter”—turn against it?

I examine that warning, Ukraine’s struggle to secure scarce missile interceptors, and Poland’s direct message to the Russian delegation: you can kill more people, but you cannot win.

I also discuss the reported return of U.S. troops to the Baltics, concerns about sabotage and drone operations in Europe, and the competing arguments over inviting Putin to the G20. Zelensky sees a potential opportunity—but would Putin actually attend?

Finally, I examine Trump’s welcome for Xi Jinping, Michael McFaul’s criticism of U.S. foreign policy, and why Taiwan deserves close attention as Washington and Beijing negotiate.

Throughout, I distinguish reported developments, official statements, and my own interpretation.

🎵 Nafas Borideh is an emotional Persian Soul-Blues ballad built around a tired, wounded voice and a deeply personal story of waiting, loneliness and emotional exhaustion.
🎤 Ramtin Honar Music
✍️ Lyrics: Ramtin Honarmandan
