Recently, Ukraine’s Thirty-third Mechanized Brigade developed a new plan to regain control of the situation in Kupiansk. Instead of sending infantry into another costly clearing operation, the brigade planned to cut off and eliminate these infiltrators using a coordinated assault conducted entirely by drones, including unmanned ground vehicles and FPV drones. This approach was necessary because months of back-and-forth fighting have reduced Kupiansk to ruins, creating countless hiding places for small Russian assault groups. Although Ukrainian forces cleared and recaptured the town in December last year, Russian troops have continued infiltrating in small groups, suffering heavy losses but maintaining a limited presence through constant attacks. While these efforts have repeatedly failed to restore meaningful Russian control, they have forced Ukrainian troops to conduct dangerous house-to-house clearing operations to remove surviving infiltrators. The Thirty-third Brigade sought to break this deadlock by using ground drones to seal infiltration routes, pin Russian troops in place, and destroy their positions without exposing Ukrainian soldiers to close-quarters combat.

Using this new tactic, the thirty-third brigade just launched the first part of the operation to eliminate the Russians who were spread across a compound containing at least two structures and a courtyard. The footage first shows how Ukrainian reconnaissance drones detected five Russian soldiers, who were seen inside the buildings. Ukrainian forces quickly dispatched two ground robots equipped with large-caliber Browning machine guns to keep them there until FPV and bomber drone support arrives. After one of the Russian soldiers changed his position and tried to run from one house to another, A Ukrainian Mavic drone immediately tracked him down. This is when Ukrainian ground drones started shooting at the windows of the house from two opposing sides to block different exits and force the Russians to take cover, as the fifty-caliber rounds of the machine gun started punching through the walls of the building. By engaging the building from the front and rear simultaneously, the Ukrainian drones trapped the Russians and prevented anyone from leaving through the front door or the back windows. This prevented the Russians from dispersing and gained valuable time for the slower Ukrainian FPV drones to close in on the target and strike the house. After the first strike on the smaller building, the ground robot kept firing at the house to prevent survivors from escaping or repositioning. The second house was then struck by the second FPV drone, which breached a hole in the wall. This allowed the third FPV drone to exploit the breach and detonate beyond the exterior wall, causing even more damage. To destroy the house, Ukraine deployed a heavy bomber drone, which dropped a bomb on the house, collapsing its roof which denied the surviving Russians the protection provided by the building after the exits had already been covered. These strikes destroyed the compound and killed five Russian soldiers who were hiding inside the buildings. The significance of this operation is that only drones were involved, with no direct human involvement on the battlefield. This reduces the risk to Ukrainian soldiers, who can now sit in bunkers kilometres from the frontline and engage the Russians from relative safety, without high-risk to their lives in close-quarters combat. As a result, the Russians were not merely struck from several directions but systematically denied movement before the destructive drones arrived.

By establishing this clearing method, Ukraine can repeat the same layered tactic against every infiltration group and cut off the narrow Russian route from the north to Kupiansk. Now, Ukraine keeps disabling their well-known land route with drones, killing Russian infiltrators and increasingly interdicting their only land-based logistical route, making it unusable. Continuous reconnaissance, enough armed ground robots and FPV teams before infiltrators can deny Russia access to Kupiansk, as the same system used to close exits from the compound could be scaled up.

Overall, this operation demonstrates how Ukraine can surround and eliminate Russians, with a potential to expand it into a wider operation. By combining reconnaissance, suppression, route denial, breaching, and final destruction with drones into a single operation, Ukrainian forces eliminated Russian infiltrators without Ukrainian assault troops entering the Russian-held buildings. If Ukraine reproduces these drone-controlled kill zones along the northern corridor, Russia’s infiltration method loses its main advantage because small groups can no longer move, hide, or escape after discovery.

This is a major issue with no clear, immediate solution

Last night Ukraine intercepted 5% of Russian missiles, 33 got through. That’s a real problem and this shortage in missile defense capabilities is arguably, the most significant challenge facing Ukraine today. I mean while Ukrainian stocks of Patriot interceptors have decreased, Russia has increased missile production. They’ve found a weakness and are exploiting it.

This morning, Poland has issued an urgent warning telling citizens to prepare for more missile attacks from Russia. People are now being told to pack emergency bags and be ready to enter bomb shelters if an alert is sounded in the near future. Meanwhile, new details have emerged about the prior missile attack on Poland just 2 days ago indicating that up to 20 missiles were flying toward Poland at the time of the incident but were shot down by Ukraine sparking fears that the attack may have been much worse than previously thought. Meanwhile in the Middle East, Iran has once again begun launching attacks on Kuwaiti bases housing U.S. forces & attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz as footage appears to show major fires erupting in the Strait. And we got bombshell news that US forces are considering a “land blockade” of Iran to further cripple Iran’s economy in addition to the ongoing naval blockade in the Persian Gulf.

Donald Trump’s public promise to license Patriot production for Ukraine is now in doubt, just weeks after he said Kyiv would get it.
Greg traces the reversal and the stakes: interceptor shortages could leave Ukraine’s energy grid exposed to Russian winter attacks.

The timeline covers Zelenskyy’s reported request for 300 Patriot interceptors, Trump’s subsequent comments, JD Vance’s call with the Ukrainian president, and evidence that Japan already manufactures Patriot equipment under U.S. license.

Greg also examines Russia’s strike on Terminal Autonomy’s drone facility in Kyiv, warnings of further attacks, Ukrainian strikes affecting Russian energy and logistics, and the Russian attack on a Nova Poshta hub in Dnipro.

Russia has pushed Romania beyond the point of restraint after consecutive Shahed drone incursions transformed repeated airspace violations into an unmistakable pattern. Incoming Russian Shaheds forced Romania to scramble F-Sixteen fighter jets in three consecutive days, shooting the intruders over Romanian territory and territorial waters. Russia’s consecutive drone violations of Romanian airspace represent a serious escalation, with the follow-up intercepts marking a shift from prior passive responses of the Nato member state.

Ukraine’s Air Force revealed the most important detail about these incursions: the drones were confirmed to be controlled by Russian operators through a mesh network, allowing them to be controlled in real-time and voiding any excuse of this being a series of unfortunate accidents. Traditional Shaheds rely on pre-programmed GPS routes, vulnerable to jamming. Mesh networks use modems installed on the drones themselves, connected to other Shahed drones also in the air. This forms an active web where each Shahed drone functions as a communication node, relaying commands, being steered in live-time. This means that because the drones are directly steered by Russian drone operators and are not vulnerable to GPS spoofing, repeated flights into Romanian territory cannot be dismissed as an accident and amount to a calculated provocation against Romania and Nato.

The motive is consistent with Russian threats, as the Kremlin repeatedly warned Europe that helping Ukraine would bring consequences and greater suffering, telling Europeans to prepare for what is coming. Such incursions allow Russia to test how quickly Nato radars detect a threat, how long fighters take to launch, which bases respond, what interception tactics are used, and where the alliance’s escalation limits lie. They may also impose an unfavorable financial exchange, forcing Romania to expend valuable air-defense missiles, while the Russian command gathers intelligence; as a Shahed can cost roughly twenty to fifty-thousand US dollars, while an air-to-air missile fired by an F-Sixteen can cost from five-hundred-thousand to one-million US dollars.

However, Romania has now clearly drawn a line, and instead of merely tracking intruding drones or recovering debris afterward, its multirole fighters are actively destroying them. This shows Bucharest is not afraid to answer Russian escalation with military force when Romanian territory is threatened. It also creates a serious new problem for Russian attacks on Odesa, as the Ukrainian port region lies immediately beside Romania and the Danube Delta, while Russian drones frequently approach through the Black Sea or along border corridors to make interception harder.

Previous Russian raids have repeatedly sent drones or wreckage onto Romanian soil, so Romanian fighters can begin consistently intercepting Russian drones, as they can’t trust that Russian drones and missiles won’t hit Romanian territory. This would mean that the most secure way to prevent that chance altogether will be to shoot them down before they can reach Ukraine and Romania. As a result, Russia will lose not only its safest approach route toward Odesa, but this could also quickly lead to the establishment of an actual Nato-imposed no-fly-zone over parts of Ukrainian territory.

At the same time, Bucharest reinforced this military response diplomatically, as the Russian ambassador was summoned, handed a formal protest, and a Russian embassy employee was declared persona non grata. The message was direct: Romania will no longer listen patiently to denials after repeated violations. If Russian drones approach its territory, Romania will defend its airspace, and Moscow will have little standing to complain about the consequences.

This follows Russia's use of this method before: act subtly, blame Ukrainian electronic warfare, suggest accidental deviation, or accuse Kyiv of arranging a false flag operation and launching a Russian drone against Nato territory. Although Russian officials rarely admit that such violations are purposeful, this time the scale and repetition have made any excuses impossible to sustain, as daily Russian provocations forced Romania to move from observation to armed interception.

Overall, Russia may have intended to intimidate Romania, test Nato, and increase the cost of defending the alliance’s eastern flank. Instead, it has encouraged a Nato member to take up arms and interfere directly with Russian strike routes toward Odesa. By continuing deliberate incursions, Russia now risks provoking wider Nato involvement, stronger regional air defenses, and a Black Sea increasingly closed to its drones.

Russia burns as massive explosions rock major refineries and distribution hubs throughout western Russia today. A mass Ukrainian drone attack has started to land major hits in key cities in the country, causing major damage to several more wild berries facilities in the past few hours. additionally, the oil loading port of Taman has also been hit. Polish authorities have confirmed that a cruise missile did hit Polish territory south of Lublin overnight, although they are not yet willing to say that it is a Russian missile. Poland has also warned they will defend themselves with or without NATO. Meanwhile alleged claims are circling that the US president is infuriated over the lack of strategy currently being implemented against Iran, and the US government is trying to find a way to turn the situation around. Saudi Arabia has also announced they will be creating a coalition to keep the Bab-El Mendeb open for operation even under Houthi pressure.

A Russian Kh-101 cruise missile has landed deep inside Poland—and the response from this major NATO member raises serious questions.

Russia’s massive overnight attack struck Kyiv, Lviv, Kryvyi Rih, and other Ukrainian regions with more than 70 missiles and 280 drones, killing civilians and placing Ukraine’s air defenses under extreme pressure. We examine Donald Tusk’s confirmation of the Polish airspace violation, whether NATO deterrence is weakening, the North Korean missile reportedly used in a deadly strike, Ukraine’s continued attacks inside Russia, and the loss of another Ukrainian F-16.

What should Poland and NATO have done after a Russian missile entered sovereign NATO territory?

Russian sources have just admitted defeat and that they’ve lost control over the southern highway, as regular transport has become extremely difficult. Notably, repeated Ukrainian drone attacks have made the R two hundred and eighty highway too dangerous for regular Russian supply traffic. Despite these admissions, Russian officials continued to claim that the situation remained under control and that Ukrainian drones had lost their effectiveness. In reality, the number of Ukrainian drone strikes declined because Russian traffic on these roads had largely collapsed. Far fewer fuel tankers and supply trucks were moving because of the high risk of being destroyed, not because Russian countermeasures had become more effective.

The scale of this campaign is illustrated by a small selection of Ukrainian drone footage from hundreds of recorded strikes, demonstrating the devastating impact of Ukraine's attacks on Russian logistics. One piece of footage shows a Russian convoy of trucks traveling along the Mariupol Dzhankoy highway in Russian controlled territory when a Ukrainian drone suddenly appears and successfully strikes one of the vehicles, proving that even organized convoys are no longer safe on this highway. In order to increase the survival chances of trucks, Russia tried to send them in a convoy rather than one by one when they can be picked off individually, but grouping the trucks failed to protect them and may even have created a larger target. Another video highlights how Ukraine found dozens of Russian trucks at parking lots and quickly destroyed them before the Russians could move them out. Additional footage from the Berdyansk Melitopol highway reveals the extent of the damage, with the road littered with destroyed Russian supply vehicles, proving that the problem extends across several southern routes.

To counter these devastating Ukrainian strikes and secure the southern routes, Russia started to deploy mobile air defense groups, which are pickup trucks equipped with machine guns. They planned to escort Russian trucks and defend them while on the move by shooting down the incoming Ukrainian drones. This is difficult because they need to monitor hundreds of kilometers of roads, while Russia lacks the capacity and resources to escort every Russian supply truck. This makes the Russian effort fruitless because the roads are too long for them to protect everywhere at once. Russia’s defense was also made even worse since Ukraine started destroying these mobile firing groups as well, further reducing the area that they can cover. Additionally, even if a mobile firing group is present, they have very little time to detect and shoot down small, fast moving Ukrainian drones. As mobile firing groups failed to protect the Russian supply lines, Russia introduced interceptor drones.

Ironically, the Russian units tasked with protecting their logistics network could no longer be supplied by that same logistics network. As logistics along the southern routes broke down, interceptor drone units began running out of fuel because their forward launch positions could no longer be resupplied reliably. The vehicles responsible for transporting interceptor drones, replacement batteries, fuel, and other supplies to frontline launch teams also required fuel to operate. Once fuel deliveries stopped and Russian interceptor units didn’t receive spare parts for their drones, they were forced to stop defending the supply roads. To reduce the risk of Ukrainian drone strikes, Russian division commanders have ordered field refueling points to be relocated approximately one hundred kilometers behind the front line. While this makes the fuel depots harder to strike, it also dramatically lengthens supply routes, increases delivery times, and forces fuel trucks to travel farther before reaching frontline units, effectively making Russia’s logistics even worse. This leaves Russian soldiers on the southern frontline exposed, because without stable supplies, they are forced to reduce offensive operations and ration their reserves.

Overall, Ukraine's sustained drone campaign has transformed southern Ukraine into an increasingly hostile environment for Russian logistics, making Russia unable to keep this highway open. By systematically targeting trucks, fuel supplies, and critical transport routes, Ukraine has forced Russia into reactive measures that have failed to restore secure supply lines. Now, Russia’s defence of the highway ultimately failed because it depended on the same supply network it was supposed to protect.
